THIS COURSE IS INTENDED FOR THOSE THAT HAVE ATTAINED THEIR NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION.
This training is presented by the Kentucky Education Association in conjunction with the Kentucky National Board Network. The training uses materials and training suggestions adapted from The National Board for Professional Teaching. These materials are used to assist current NBCT's with being prepared to assist new candidates in the certification process.
Objectives
Understand the fundamentals of National Board Professional Learning Facilitation including its goals and benefits, and the Accomplished Teaching Body of Knowledge.
Understand the roles and responsibilities of NB Professional Learning Facilitators (PLFs).
Understand the current certification and scoring process.
Interpret and apply National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) guidelines that ensure ethical candidate support.
Learn about adult learning principles, effective communication skills, and bias training.
Learn how to provide meaningful feedback to candidates without affecting the integrity of the assessment.
Acquire new skills to deepen the professional learning of the National Board Certification process.
